mtoto mzuri by nonini and bobby mapesa
nons and bobby killed this one! the quality of the video and the whole setting was awesome. this one kept genge at an all time high and was a sign of better things to come. the ladies lacked rythm save for the rainy scene with one lady pulling off some ’shakira’ moves. other than that and the too dark and dingy feel to the video, the artists made it a great number!

come as u r by Ida Onyango
she of the dont stop fame is back with a catchy tune. just like in her other videos, wild is the theme. the video is well made, high quality and all and the dance moves in it are wonderful. Ida makes my day with the last moves she does with the pink background towards the end of the video. only problem is that the video is barely two weeks old but it is bound to explode BOOOOM!

chakacha by swahili nation ft chameleone
what took you this long????? is the question i have for swahili nation. dudes been away from the scene for ages and now they are back! this song makes me want to dance anytime and yes we forgive you for the abscence thanks to the hot lady doing the chorus. love the quality and the flow in it! the little boy in the vid makes my day but thats too familiar a scene? hey but we are allowed to sample scenes! gr8 job!

musiq ya soul by wakamba wawili
hip hop is not dead and music is the heartbeat in my soul! who can forget this hot tune from wakamba wawili? they rock! the video was simple and artistic. the dark dingy thing haunted it but all was cool. the cool graphics and psyched artists made it awesome. this is kenyan hip hop at its best!!!!

muwala by peter miles
the Ugandans tickled my fancy this year! peter miles in collaboration with his kenyan and ugandan producers made a video that was just too hot! the pauses in the video and the killer moves made it even win a channel o award. love the colors in the video! it was different and i loved every second of it.

kushoto kulia by nonini’s punit
kushoto kulia, kushoto kulia. nonini came out strong this year and his boyz really deserve a mention for this number. this is a classic and i had so many ideas for the video but the real producers did a good 80% on it. loved the pics scenes but only beef i had with it was the dark dingy feel to it. it rocked nevertheless!!!!!!!!!!!!!

siku hazigandi by lady jaydee
bongo flava has not really shaken the video charts this year. tanzania’s saviour came in the form of this number that has a really exotic feel to it! lady jaydee tried hard with her 5 man street carnival. lovely colors and the cultural feel to it is what makes it stand out. video hii haigandi!

combination by Nazizi, wyre, bebe cool, peter miles and menshan
the east african bashement crew rocked the whole of Africa with this number. not many words can be used to describe a nazizi joint and without going into too much blurb let us enjoy the combination.

missing my baby by amani
now this whole chart would be incomplete if i did not talk about missing my baby. that ogopa deejays rules, we all know. amani was back with this number that makes you think of africa just 2 seconds into the video. she is hot and the best part was the color switch. impressive. the story line was simple and the message that she misses her baby (miss you too baby!)was passed ! i watched this video more than 30 times continously and it was a time well spent. it ruled the charts and all i can ask is for ogopa to give us more clips pleeeeease!

chapaa by abbass kubaff
now this made my year! abbass deserves an oscar, grammy, nobel, or smthn great for this! this video really made my year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the quality was amazing, abbass was in character and he really proved why he is east africa’s best mc! Backstage, a little known production house came from nowhere and made us all say tunalike chappaa! check it out for yourself. THE HOTTEST VIDEO THIS YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
